Authors Abroad

On Thursday 9th February 2017, some children from year 6 went to St. Margaret’s Smile Centre to meet an author called Colin R. Parsons. He comes from The Rhonda Valley, which is in South Wales; he is married to Janice and has two sons called Kristoffer and Ryan.

He began the day by telling us that he has written lots of fantasy books, how and where he gets his ideas from. Some of his books include: The Curious World of Shelley Vendor and The Wizards Kingdom (his first novel) now part of a trilogy. He has written and published over six novels: However, his ambition is to write lots more books for children and adults to read and enjoy.

During the day we wrote our own short stories, which he gave us lots of ideas for and explained how we needed to make our long and short stories so thrilling, entertaining and exciting that the reader will want to read on. We all really enjoyed the day and learned a lot about writing.
