Early Years Foundation Stage
Early Years Foundation Stage
Seedlings – 2 year olds
Acorns – 3 and 4 year olds
Ash Class – 4 and 5 year olds
In the foundation stage we follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage which can be found here
Please see our long term curriculum overview
We also place a strong focus on communication skills as these support learning in the whole curriculum. If you would like to learn more about the expectations for your child's age, please see the following "Small Talk" document.
“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own rights.”
– Statutory Framework for the EYFS
At Dallam Community Primary School we have a curriculum ambitious and child centred and is delivered throug enquiry based questions. The questions aim to build on prior learning and involve activities and experiences for all children, set out in the educational programmes from the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, DfE 2021.
