Audit and Action plan

The school has under taken an audit of its PE provision and developed an action plan which forms part of the school development plan.

Key areas for improvement include: 

  1. Replenishing sports equipment to support PE and playtimes to enthuse all children.
  2. Supporting regular sports tournaments, festivals and competitions for all children organised by the school and Warrington School Sports Partnership.
  3. Training and professional development opportunities for all staff, including qualified sports coaches working alongside primary teachers.
  4. Quality PE curriculum and schemes of work for each Key Stage.

Key outcomes include:

  • Increased staff knowledge and confidence in teaching sports
  • Increased number of children taking part in sports competitions
  • Children participating in a wider variety of activities

Active Maths - Maths of the Day

What is Maths of the Day?

Maths of the Day is an innovative and creative online resource providing lesson plans for ‘Active Maths’. MOTD uses PE and activities as a vehicle for learning in maths.

Benefits of Maths of the Day

  • Helps children to retain information better.
  • Appeals to all ages: boys and girls.
  • Exercises the mind and the body.
  • Increases attainment and achievement.
  • Children love it!

In today’s lesson we used our orienteering skills to find maths problems about fractions and decimal points. Once we had found them, we had to solve them as quickly as possible. One team answered twenty questions in 14 minutes!
