We also place a large focus on communication skills as these support learning in the whole curriculum. If you would like to learn more about the expectations for your child's age, please see the following "Small Talk" document.
“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Children develop quickly in the early years and a child’s experiences between birth and age five have a major impact on their future chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own rights.”
– Statutory Framework for the EYFS (DfE:2014)
At Dallam Community Primary School we believe that every child has the right to a broad and balanced education in a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment. Your children will enjoy exciting and enriching activities that provide a balanced and stimulating curriculum.
We plan our learning based on the children's interests and we have an over-arching topic for each term.
Autumn Term - History Focus - "What makes me amazing?"
Spring Term - Geography/STEM focus - "Where can we go? What can we see?"
Summer Term - Arts Focus - "What makes the world a beautiful place?"
If you would like to know how you can help at home or what the expectations are for your child at their age then please speak to a member of the foundation stage. You may find the following booklet helpful.
